Hi everybody! It’s Sid Bardfield here with the latest news for Metairie Music Academy. Great news on the horizon! My goal this year is to start doing more perfomance events.
I am happy to announce that we will be doing 2 recitals a year. Looking at May and November. This will be open to all students. I have a couple as young as 5 years old and they’ve been doing lessons less than 6 months but I believe they are ready to perform. For some of the adult students we will be having a band performance with a drummer, bass guitar and student guitar players being featured.
Be sure to let your friends and family know so they can come see you shine. Awards will be given to all the participants. I love working with the students and getting them ready to perform. I’ve performed for years in many settings and it can be overwhelming at times. I understand it very well having anxiety on stage with panic attacks. What I’ve learned I’m able to share and have helped many students and other performers with the jitters.
We will be practicing the song or songs they will play in the recital so they will have the physical skillset to play it really well. I will also coach them with 5 ideas I’ve used for years for the mental side of performing. And I believe music is a gift we give to ourselves and it is gift we give to others. The main thing is to have fun and do your best!

Pet of the Month
This is Red Fin, he has been with us since a year ago but he is much older than that. He likes to play tricks like he is dead, at feeding time he likes to show us how excited he is by swimming around the tank. We love Red Fin!
This cool fish is the pet of students, Daniel and Natalia Gudiel.
