Hi everybody! It’s Sid Bardfield here with the latest news for Metairie Music Academy. The Summer Recital 2022 by the feedback I received from everyone was a smashing success! I want to thank all the parents, all kids that performed and all the teens and adults who stepped out in public for the first time. Take a second to think about it. You stepped out onto a stage, you are a performer and it will only get better every time that you do it. Personally, I was proud and amazed at every performance that day!
We will be having another recital in November. There are 2 Recitals a year. Please think about songs you may want to perform. And I encourage any students that was considering performing but was second guessing themselves. Please let me know so I can help develop the performing mindset, how to use the nervousness to have a better performance, how to enjoy performing. It’s very possible with the training I provide. I used to have panic attacks on stage in Las Vegas and was able to perform with energy, confidence and enjoy it in the moment. I can help you.
Many students can play well but are fearful of performing. There are many things we can do to get you the skills to perform through the fear. Music is a gift you give yourself, that’s why we take the time to practice a song we like, it makes us feel good. We can also give that give to family, friends and the public. They will enjoy what you do.
This is proof that music lessons are life transforming, whether you play guitar, piano or sing, music will teach you life skills. And remember, when you play for an audience it’s not an audience of musicians but a group of people who will enjoy what you are playing. I always say, just do your best and have fun!
