Hi everybody! It’s Sid Bardfield here with the latest news for Metairie Music Academy. Great news on the horizon! The Recital has been confirmed and will be Saturday June 11 from 12-2 at Lakeview Christian Center 5885 Fleur De Lis Dr. New Orleans, 70124. We will be performing in Rm 200 upstairs. I’ll be giving all the details to all the performing students. ALL students are welcome to attend even if you don’t want to perform. It is a family event. Hope to see you there!
First and foremost I appreciate all of the students that are stepping out to perform in the recital. For most people it is too scary to get in front of people. We start thinking what if thoughts, what if I miss a note, what if I forget what I’m at in the song…..As a long time musician and performer I have been through all the fears and thinking and can help everyone learn to enjoy performing.
I have an Article I wrote years ago that I teach and give out to How to Be Confident whether playing in front of 10 people or a thousand people. There are methods to help prepare. All of the Metairie Music Academy students are amazing people and great musicians. Can’t wait to see you shine at the Recital! All of the students that won’t be performing I believe will perform one day and see how their work has paid off. It is a total mental thing and what we tell ourselves. It’s one of my goals over time to help each student build the confidence to show the world what you can do.
I appreciate each and every student and how you invest time and energy to playing better guitar, piano, bass, ukulele, and singing/voice! You are all amazing and a joy to work with and see your growth. I am excited for each and every one of you. This is our first Recital as Metairie Music Academy and we will be doing 2 Recital/Performances a year, the next one will be Nov or Dec. I provide this at no extra cost to you. I’m also working on having smaller performances with 3 or 4 students during the year to get the experience of playing together or as we say Jamming. Lots of great things coming!

Pet of the Month
Check out these cool guys! Their names are Max and Gus and which are Goldendoodles and the black one is Frankie, a Sheepadoodle. These mischievous guys have eaten their masters guitar book twice. I suspect they don’t like him spending time with the guitar. Trying to sabotage his efforts. These beautiful animals were submitted by their owner, Dr.Bruce Gandle, who is presently studying guitar at the Metairie Music Academy.
