Hi everybody! It's Sid Bardfield here with the latest news for Metairie Music Academy. Merry Christmas to all! Is it really going to be 2023? Hard to believe. We did our 2nd Recital and Band performance on Saturday Dec 10th and I was blown away with the performances by all. I have the privilege of working closely with each student weekly have really seen the growth in everyone.
It was not only my opinion but several family members and even students who performed in the June recital commented on how they noticed the improvement of all the students who were performing for the 2nd time. And I know when we do the Recital in June 2023 it will be even better.
Practicing and performing is what gets us better and gets us better faster. There will be some new ideas I'm implementing in 2023 such as group jam sessions with 3 students. That way you learn how to play with others and get extra performance coaching. I've done it before and need to bring it back. It really works great all instruments, guitar, piano, bass and singing. Remember, the voice is an instrument.
Music lessons always have us doing something physically but I think we forget that it's the brain directing the fingers on guitar or piano and the vocal cords with singing. What took me to another level of music was the mental side of thinking through my practice and analyzing how I'm doing it. It takes just a minute more. Rather than just moving our fingers but thinking about how they are supposed to be moving.
I am truly excited for the coming New Year! If you have any suggestions on anything you'd like to see new or improvements I'd love to hear them. I believe the music lessons are at a high level to help everyone achieve their goals but it can always be improved. Let's do this thing together!

A Great Snack Recipe for Christmas
Reindeer Crunch
Here's an easy recipe and once you start eating it, it's hard to stop! Ingredients
11 oz golden grahams
9 oz thin pretzel sticks
white almond bark
Directions
Mix the golden grahams and pretzel sticks together in a large bowl
Melt the almond bark in microwave for 30 sec at a time
Once it's completely melted, pour in a large bowl
Mix together to cover all golden grahams and pretzel sticks
Then spread the mixture out on parchment paper and let dry
for 20 minutes.
