Introduction: Why Are So Scared to Sing
The vast majority of the world whether children or adults fear speaking or singing in front of others as one of the top fears for everyone.
Many say the human voice is the greatest and most beautiful instrument.
Even longtime professionals or world class performers suffer withl performance anxiety. We are not alone.
At Metairie Music Academy we promote an easy way to get started without pressure. Teachers who encourage and teachers share their struggles in what it took to get good in music.
1. Your Voice is Unique and Powerful
Your voice is part of your very make up, it’s who you are. We want to learn to sing with confidence and let all the emotions of the song come through our voice.
When you take Professional Voice Lessons here’s just a few things you will learn:
- Vocal cords will grow stronger lesson by lesson for a fuller and powerful sound
- You’ll learn how to hit the notes on pitch which really builds confidence
- :Learn and master the skill of breathing to sing with ease
- Hit higher notes and expand your vocal range
At Metairie Music Academy, we’ll guide you with breathing exercises, vocal warm ups and help you sing the songs you love with ease and confidence.
2. My Child is Scared to Perform, Do They have Stage Fright?
Fear is the No.1 issue in any performance activity. Fear of making a mistake, fear of looking silly, fear of people just not liking me…..
Thousands of musicians including myself have learned how to deal with the fear and turn it into fun.
I can choose fear or fun. I’ve developed many methods for directly dealing with and handling fear. Just like I teach Piano, Guitar, Voice, Bass, Ukulele. I teach skillsets for Performance.
It’s Psychological skills that all the great performers use in each show they do.
3. Learning and Training to Sing Trains Much More Than Your Voice
Learning to sing can also improve a child’s communication skills. It will help with projecting your voice, speaking more clearly, speaking with more emotional impact, confidence and commanding more attention when speaking and much more.
Do you feel like people cut you off when you speak? Do people listen to your ideas and advice? Can I be heard in a loud restaurant? These skills are much needed for kids but as adults we need them too.
Conclusion: Let Us Help You Discover Your Voice
I started Metairie Music Academy because I believe everyone can learn to sing.
I worked with many who started out with bad pitch and learned to sing on pitch. Some had a weak voice and turned into a strong, full voice. Learn how to sing at home for fun or how to join a band, get up the stage and show them what you got!
